This facility permits quick and easy searching for NHS technologies that are available for further development or licensing. Contact with the relevant Hub can be made directly through a link on the database. Through the NHS Innovations network, Hubs will work with potential licensees to access all available NHS technologies and tailor commercial needs to deliver an integrated service.

The Exchange also encourages requests from businesses, the NHS, research establishments and the general public for new medical opportunities, solutions and collaborations. To protect the IP rights of the submitting party, all requests will initially be treated in confidence. However, once due diligence has been carried out, requests will be posted on the database to facilitate knowledge exchange.
