Who We Are...

The Innovation Pathway North East is an exciting new partnership between NHS Innovations North and HIEC North East. The objective of the Innovation Pathway North East is to cover the entire lifecycle of healthcare innovation, from conception through to its eventual adoption and dissemination.

Innovative ideas can originate from many sources;for example, innovators in industry, commercial companies, academics within universities and healthcare professionals within the NHS. However, the uptake of innovative ideas can be impeded by the lack of a recognised pathway to the end user.

It is the aim of The Innovation Pathway North East to provide this connectivity and offer a complete range of innovation services to NHS Trusts, emerging GP Consortia and Businesses beased in the North East region.

NHS Innovations North is the official technology transfer representative for the NHS in the North East region and was set up to champion the cause of innovation in the NHS and to stimulate enterprise acitivity in the field of healthcare.

HIEC North East is a formal partnership between industry, NHS organisations and leading regional higher education insitiutions and aims to promote the adoption and dissemination of innovative ideas and research in healthcare.
